Prague Castle is one of the most visited places in Prague. Once the castle was the residence of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire. Nowadays it is the residence of the Czech President. Also trough history values, it has a wonderful architectural design. From the heights of Prague Castle offers a beautiful view of the Old City. Hence it can be seen its beautiful houses with red roofs and majestic cathedrals of capital.
When you go to Prague Castle, once you note St. Vitus Cathedral. This amazing Gothic structure from the 14th century is decorated with fanciful gargoyles, which can be easily seen from the ground. This stunning Gothic structure is considered a "calling card" of the city, and its oldest part.
There are a lot of interesting places you can find in and around the castle. For example, the "Golden Lane" (Zlatá ulička) - a series of small, colorful shops that originally served as housing for the palace guards. According to one legend, there once lived alchemists of Rudolf II, who tried to find "the Sorcerer's Stone."
Whatever it was, it really looks like fabulous street, especially impressive are its tiny dwarf houses. Nowadays street has become a very popular attraction among tourists, the houses converted into souvenir shops with a variety of galleries and exhibitions. Access to the "Golden Lane" costs 250 crowns.
There is also a toy museum, which actually has nothing to do with the castle, but keeps a collection of very interesting old and new toys.
It deserves special attention the Royal Garden of Prague Castle. On its territory you will find a beautiful Renaissance building. This is by itself the summer palace of Queen Anne. It’s another name is Belvedere. Around the palace stretches winding alleys of the garden itself. Walking through its paths, you can enjoy not only fresh air, but also the beauty
Of the surrounding views of the whole of Prague. Parkland before the Belvedere combines the few fountains, sculptures, blooming labyrinths and green trees, in the shade of them you can relax or have a little picnic. By the way, a fountain located in front of the beautiful palace called "singing" because of the melodious sounds that emit droplets of water falling into a metal bowl.
Royal Garden is open year-round. Art Gallery Belvedere is open from April to October daily from 10 to 18 hours.
Himself castle is open daily from 5:00 until midnight. You can buy the ticket from 9:00 to 18:00.
How to get to Cesky Krumlov?
To get to the Prague Castle, you can to take tram number 1, 18, 22, 25, 56, 57, 91 and go to tram station Pražský hrad.
